Paws Protect expands in to Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire!

Here is some great news for anyone wanting to foster a cat or needing to home a cat to enable somebody to flee to refuge!.

We have this from our good friends at Paws Protect

Paws Protect is a temporary cat fostering service for people fleeing domestic abuse. We exist to enable people to flee to safety while having the peace of mind that their cat is in a safe and loving environment in a foster home.

We are delighted to announce that from January 2019 we will be expanding our service area to include Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Put together with our existing areas of London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Sussex and Surrey we will be able to cover the whole of the South East, and help more cats and people fleeing domestic abuse.

Paws Protect has now been running as a stand-alone service for two years, and in that time we have been able to foster over 140 cats, enabling their owners to flee to safety. This is something we are immensely proud of; as it really shows the impact Paws Protect is having on both human and cat safety. This is further illustrated in feedback from a Paws Protect owner: “The service allowed me to start a new life and know that the most important things to me [the cats] were taken care of. I could not have progressed as far as I have without the help of Paws Protect.”

We now have a brilliant total of over 35 volunteer fosterers, who look after our Paws Protect cats in their homes until it is time for them to be reunited with their owners. We also have volunteer drivers, and volunteers who knit toys and blankets for our cats. Our volunteers are a vital part of the Paws Protect service, we wouldn’t be able to enable people and cats to flee domestic abuse without them, and appreciate all that they do.
