How and where it was developed
The idea was conceived, developed and implemented first in the North of the county by a small steering group made up from members of the Cherwell Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership’s Domestic Abuse Group.
The purpose was to create a multiagency team of lead practitioners to provide the frontline element of integrated support and advice to victims of domestic violence and their dependents. A pilot was implemented by the development team who initially conceived the idea devised and facilitated training and resources.
There were 23 initial Champions from a variety of agencies working within Cherwell and surrounding districts. An initial evaluation was undertaken which gave very positive feedback from those involved.
