Message to all our champs
Hello Domestic Abuse Champions!
It’s lovely to e-meet you and thank you for all the hard work you do as a Champion, on top of your actual jobs! I’m Amelia and have just joined Reducing the Risk as Training and Development Officer.
I’ll be working on various training projects, starting in Oxfordshire and branching out to other areas of the UK similar to the Champions model. Some of the projects I will be developing include workshops and training for secondary school, sixth form and university students, and programmes for various communities such as the LGBTQI+ community.
I’ve come from a charity background, working with young people for a year in my last role at One-Eighty, a psychology-based behaviour support charity, and before that was at Student Minds, the UK’s student mental health charity, where I was Training Programmes Manager for two years. Outside of work, I’ve recently adopted two gorgeous guinea pig babies, and like kickboxing, walks (usually with a stop at a pub) and reading.
I am very much looking forward to working with Reducing the Risk, and hopefully will come across many of you in my role. If you have any ideas or questions for me, please do get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org.
