Survey from Dogs Trust

Dogs Trust

Here is a message from Louise at Dogs Trust, who is waiting for her Champion training with the Bucks Champions' Network. It is so important that we accept there is a common link between domestic abuse and pet abuse — so please help her if you can:

The Dogs Trust Freedom Project has just launched a new survey to gather further information from professionals and practitioners on their experience of cases where domestic abuse has involved pets, and what impact this has on the survivor. This survey should take between 5-10 minutes to complete, and is designed to gather information from any professional supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse, including:

  • Refuges
  • Domestic abuse services
  • Social workers / Social Care Providers
  • Police Officers
  • Housing Association and Local Authority Housing/Homelessness Teams

We would be grateful if you could participate in this survey as your professional knowledge, insight and experience will help us to understand the experiences of survivors and support us in raising awareness of the link between domestic abuse and pet abuse and the development of our future service delivery. Information provided will be used internally to develop our policies and practices, but also externally via our charity marketing materials and publicity to raise awareness of this serious issue and its impact. We would be grateful if you could share the survey widely amongst your colleagues and online via your organisation’s social media if possible. If you have any questions regarding this survey, please contact freedomproject@dogstrust.org.uk.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Kind regards, Louise Gostling
